Some have described it as "hours of boredom, accented by moments of sheer terror". Police work is an occupation requiring physically and mentally fit officers who can go from 0 to 60 in a moments notice. Every muscle, joint, tendon and ligament will be stretched to the limit throughout the course of a police officers career. Daily requirements and unpredictable job tasks present many opportunities for career ending injury or worse.

Getting in shape and staying in shape for law enforcement requires specificity in training and a lifestyle that enhances every component of job readiness. The Protectors program has analyzed job tasks for police work and has developed the most complete occupational fitness program for the men and women who wear the badge. The Protectors program applies the science of fitness to the variables of aging and relative condition to prescribe appropriate fitness programs for all types of police officer. No matter where you are in your career, it is never to late to make positive change with Protectors.

Law Enforcement Testimonial

Protectors Training Team,

Thank you so very much for offering the Protectors Challenge to Lancaster County. The City of Lincoln is participating as well, but since my involvement is primarily County employees, I just wanted to say that the feedback is so positive from our County participants. Our employees who are participating are on their way to better health which in turn promotes better morale. The competition is friendly and yet, I find that the participants are very serious about reaching their personal goals and the goals of the team. We are anticipating the results as I would like to take this to the next level in promoting wellness and with the results of the Protectors Challenge, we will be able to finally have a measureable outcome to prove that healthy employees are happier, cost our self-insured health plan less and have less workers’ compensation injuries which saves the taxpayer money. It is truly a WIN - WIN proposal.

I just want to thank all the wonderful sponsors and give a big thank you to you, for believing in the value of health and fitness and offering this program to those who serve all of us and keep up safe.

These folks go from zero to maxed out adrenaline in seconds and it takes a special program and a special focus to understand those physical demands and the Protectors Challenge is that special program.

From all of us involved in Risk Management, this is a very valuable tool to take to the next level. We can now promote the outcomes of physical fitness, wellness, and health. The dollars spent in the endeavor of those goals is money well spent. We have spent too much money on the back end to heal and it’s time we begin to focus on the front end in education and behavior modification.

In gratitude,

Sue Eckley
