With nothing but time on their hands, inmates often become stronger, more devious and more dangerous in jail or prison. While Corrections officers are busy working, inmates are often busy working out. Being surrounded by a population of individuals who have no respect for the law is a dangerous position for anyone to find themselves in. Corrections officers who recognize this precarious situation become mindful and cautious and prepare themselves for anything.
Building strength, mobility, agility, speed and endurance are important career ambitions for Correctional personnel who must be better than the "other guy". Simple "wellness" training is not enough to prepare CO's for their required job tasks and uncertain risks. Protectors has studied the functions of CO's and has built specificity into the Protectors Correctional officer's training to provide a comprehensive readiness program designed to reduce on-the-job injuries and increase performance over the course of a career.
