The PROTECTORS fitness team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to present the PROTECTORS fitness challenge to law enforcement, corrections and firefighter agencies in the city. The Challenge, scheduled for the Spring of 2009, pits Lincoln's public service agencies against each other in a 90 day challenge which focuses on over-all fitness improvement amongst competing five-person teams. Working with PROTECTORs service provider, Athology, will train participants in fitness and nutrition training regimens to determine a final winner and boasting rights for 2009.
Lincoln's baseball team, the Saltdogs will keep fans apprised of the challenge, its participants and the final winners by posting video on the stadium screens during the regular season. Fans will be able to get to know their local Heros and cheer for their success as they undetrake the Challenge. The fitness challenge is an opportunity for agencies to encourage specific fitness training methods for occupations that are demanding and high risk. |
