Havana, FL: The Navy SEALS Fitness Challenge was presented at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy on Saturday, Nov 21st. More than 100 aspiring young men and women came to the academy to participate in a full day event which featured SEALS trainers, mentors, recruiters and a variety of uniformed staff. Attendees were presented with a basic lecture and several videos describing the role of a US Navy SEAL. Several of them participated in the physical fitness challenge that drove them to the point of exhaustion. The NAVY ACCELERATOR, a self-contained mobile SEAL semi-truck unfolded in the parking lot to present a walk through showcase featuring SEAL equipment and uniforms.
The young men here, young men and ladies that are here are in the preparation stages of entering the Navy for some of the naval Special Warfare, special operations programs," Commander Anthony Almon, Executive Officer said. Participants completed hundreds of push ups, sit ups, and pull ups, and ran four-point-five miles. The PROTECTORS program was a proud organizer of the challenge and plan to do more in the pan handle. |
